Attorney Profile

I was born and raised in Jupiter, Florida, a small coastal town about 80 miles north of Miami. I graduated from public school in 1985. I attended college at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, graduating in 1989. Thereafter, I attended the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, receiving my law degree in 1993. I am a devout Christian and I advance the values of my faith – truth, honor, integrity and compassion – in every facet of my legal practice. I believe God’s purpose or plan for me – at least the plan He has chosen to reveal to me thus far - is to serve Him by pursuing justice for those that have suffered severe and catastrophic harm. It is because of these beliefs that I am proud to say I am a trial lawyer, and I find great honor and privilege in helping my clients as we seek justice together.

I met my wife, the former Alicia Cochran, while attending law school in Birmingham. After law school, we moved to the Mobile area to be closer to her family. I have practiced law in numerous courtrooms throughout Alabama since 1993, though my office has always been located in Mobile. We have one child, who has truly been a blessing in our lives.

I am admitted to practice law before the state and federal courts of Alabama and the United States Supreme Court. I am a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the Mobile Bar Association, the Alabama Association for Justice (formerly known as the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association), the South Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Christian Legal Society.

I have served a number of charitable organizations over the last 17 years, including nine years service on the Board of Directors of Wilmer Hall Children’s Home (a home for abused and neglected children) in Mobile. I have also served on several boards and committees for my church over the years.

Having grown up on the east coast of Florida, I just couldn’t get the seawater out of my blood. Outside of my legal practice, I enjoy spear fishing, scuba diving, boating and fishing. It is a blessing to live on the beautiful gulf coast of Alabama.
